Mallorca (or Majorca) is the largest of the Balearic Islands, and one of the most popular and beloved destinations in the Mediterranean. With its stunning beaches, lush mountains, and rich cultural heritage, there's something for everyone in Mallorca.

Mallorca is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. From the long, sandy beaches of Playa de Palma to the secluded coves of Cala d'Or, there's a beach for everyone on Mallorca. If you're looking for a party beach, head to Playa de Palma. If you're looking for a more relaxed beach, try Cala d'Or. And if you're looking for something in between, there are plenty of other options to choose from.

In addition to its beautiful beaches, Mallorca is also home to some stunning mountains. The Serra de Tramuntana mountains run along the west coast of the island, and offer stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. There are plenty of hiking trails in the Serra de Tramuntana, so you can explore the mountains at your own pace.

Mallorca has a rich cultural heritage, dating back to the Roman period. The island is home to a number of historical sites, including the Roman amphitheater in Pollença and the Moorish castle in Alcudia. Mallorca is also home to a number of museums, including the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palma and the Museum of Mallorcan History and Archaeology.

Like most areas of spain, Mallorca is a foodie's paradise (perfect for Sightseekr). The island is home to a wide variety of restaurants, serving everything from traditional Spanish cuisine to international delights. If you're looking for something special, try the local specialty, sobrasada. Sobrasada is a type of sausage made from pork, paprika, and other spices. It's typically served with bread or crackers.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy on Mallorca, in addition to sunbathing and swimming. You can go hiking, biking, sailing, windsurfing, and even golf. There are also a number of water parks on the island, (tickets can be purchased here!) perfect for a day of fun in the sun. As well as all of the party bars too - but be assured they don't ruin the family holiday!

Additional information:

It is also important to note that the government of the Balearic Islands has implemented some new laws recently. The new rules introduced in May 2024 specifically prohibit the consumption of alcohol within designated public areas in Llucmajor, Palma, Calvia (Magaluf) in Mallorca and Sant Antoni in Ibiza. This ban does not apply to consumption in authorised areas such as licensed terraces, bars and restaurants. If you are caught drinking alcohol in public spaces outside of authorised areas, you could face fines ranging from €500 (£430) to €1,500, or even up to €3,000 if your behaviour is particularly disruptive. You can also be fined for wearing swimwear or walking around shirtless in public areas that are not beaches or pool areas in many parts of Spain, including the Balearic Islands.
