So, first up, this tool lets you search for accommodation or flights anywhere in the world! Some of the most popular websites for travel are included on here, such as hotels.com and VRBO. You can now also search for flights too, so everything is in one place!
Alternatively, you could book your accommodation through other sites, or directly through a hotel, which can be cheaper. We generally like to book through a recognisable website like Expedia or Booking.com especially when going abroad just because you know you will be able to access their customer service if anything goes wrong.
Speaking of booking.com, we have a search tool for this website below too! We love this site and their Genius loyalty program means you can get great discounts too. In our opinion, it's one of the easiest sites to navigate when looking for accommodation and very trustworthy. People often think booking.com is only for hotels, but actually they do have whole apartments and homes too. Have a quick search for your next destination below and see if you can find your perfect place to stay!
If your flights and accommodation are booked, now is the time to start planning what you want to do! Yes, sometimes it's nice to just relax and take it as it comes, but especially if you're exploring a new place or only visiting somewhere for a short time, it's nice to have a rough idea of what you're going to do each day. If you're looking for trips and tours, you can generally find anything you need on GetYourGuide - we use them for most of our experiences on trips. They're trustworthy and you can access your tickets for everything through their mobile app which is really handy.
We know that even when your flights, hotel and experiences are booked, there are still other things you'll need. You might be going on a long trip, going from place to place, and need transport between different areas. If you're doing this in Europe, we definitely recommend looking into Eurail. They provide train passes that work across the entire continent and can save you an absolute fortune over your trip. A very popular option is a pass that gives you 7 travel days within a month-long period. So you get to spend a month exploring Europe, and pick 7 days out of your trip to be "travel days", where you can use as many trains as you like to get to your next destination! We used an Eurail pass for a 3-month adventure around Europe and couldn't have been happier with the experience.
If you're wanting to explore any country using public transport, we highly recommend using the search tool Rome2Rio! Basically, you add 2 places you want to visit, and it provides a full list of different modes of transport you can use to get between them. It's really helpful, especially if you don't know the area you're visiting very well and you're not hiring a car but want to get out and explore!
Of course, we can't forget about transfers and airport parking. You can always book direct with whichever provider you choose, or direct with the airport, but we always like to have a look on Holiday Extras to see which other deals are available. They do taxis, transfers, parking, even airport lounges, and we've managed to bag you all up to 25% off on all their products!
